The NH Department of Environmental Services has posted an
ADVISORY effective August 11th, 2008
for FOREST LAKE which reads as follows:
NOTICE
THIS BEACH AREA MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR SWIMMING DUE TO HIGH LEVELS OF POTENTIALLY TOXIC BLUE-GREEN ALGAE

Please:
Do not wade or swim in water containing visible blue-green or greenish scums!
Do not drink the water or let children drink the water!
Do not let pets or livestock into the water!
Exposure to blue-green algal scums may cause various symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mild fever and general malaise. Anyone who comes in contact with algal scum should rinse off with fresh water.

This ADVISORY is in effect until notified otherwise.
The NHDES will periodically test the Lake water to identify any change in the levels of the blue-green aglae.
2008-2009 Fuel Assistance
Southwestern Community Services will be available to meet with residents regarding Fuel Assistance from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM on the following dates: Thursday September 4th, Tuesday September 9th, Thursday September 18th and Wednesday September 24th.
Applications may be obtained from Southwestern Community Services by calling 352-7512. To qualify, an individual must be over 60, on disability, or have children under the age of 6 in the household.

The last date to register for the PRIMARY is Tuesday, September 2, 2008
You MAY register on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, the date of the PRIMARY
The last date to register for the GENERAL election is Saturday, October 25 from 11-11:30 AM
You MAY register on the day of the election, Tuesday, November 4, 2008.
